According to a new report from 9to5Mac, two sources familiar with Apple’s marketing plans claim Apple has considered the name “iPhone Xs Max” for the larger 6.5-inch iPhone. Last week, the "iPhone Xs" name surfaced and it became clear that both models would use the same name. Apple apparently will be dropping the "Plus" branding. Now, it appears Apple will continue to use a special name for the larger model. The "Max" name does seem very unusual, not something we would imagine Apple to go with. We'll have to wait for official confirmation at the September 12th event, but for now, it seems like we'll be getting the iPhone 9, iPhone Xs, and iPhone Xs Max next week.
